I have some updates on the chainmail vest! In the picture on the right, you can see the original setup that I used to attach the rings; that quickly changed as I advanced because I needed a way to make a longer consequent surface, at least three times this size.

I solved this by moving the chainmail to a long piece of wire I had found in a drawer around the studio. I hung it to the metal wire on the front of the tall shelf in my studio area and worked from there.

Moving the working area to the shelf was a fantastic idea since I can work closer to the piece and in better detail, and I also think the new setup is a lot stronger and steadier than the original one.

My plan at the moment is to double what I have now in vertical length and then bisque it so I can continue attaching more links later. I am scared of compromising the structure by making it longer. I want to discuss that with you in the next class.
