Project #1

I liked this first assignment a lot! Making goblets was fun, it was a great learning experience, It has definitely increased my confidence on the wheel and taught me to be more patient. When I made the first five goblets, I had a few of them break and crack, and at least two stems broke due to the cup's weight on top. With these last five, I was much more careful, ensuring the steams were dry enough to handle the weight before I attached the top. In the second and third pictures, I tried doing something different with the stem, They were just chunky and straight so I wanted to make them look a little more fun. I LOVE the double-stem one. I don't know how comfortable holding when drinking from it will be, but it is so cute UwU.

Lastly, I stumbled upon this ceramicist on IG, His name is Wyatt Amend, and he is from Ojai, CA, and graduated from Sonoma State University. His work is delicate and intricate, assimilating glass shapes.

I am incredibly impressed and inspired by his work, and while I have already finished building my goblets, I want to try making a chalice or two that looks more delicate and thin.
